3 months old

Barrett is 3 months old today!!  I know every mom says this but time is FLYING by!!  He is growing and changing so quick. 

• Weight: 14.6 lbs
• Length: 25 inches
• He eats 4 oz. every 2-4 hours.
• Size 1-2 diapers
• He is wearing mostly 0-3 or 3 month clothing...some 3-6 month clothing.
• He loves his bath and loves having his clothes off!!  haha
• Barrett loves to play on his play gym.  Recently, he has started grabbing the toys that hang from it.
• He is holding his head up more and more during tummy time.
• He loves to stand and look in the mirror at himself!!  He will smile and coo the whole time.
• He got a Bumbo seat from Papa T that he likes to sit in.  He likes to stare at the TV while sitting in it. 
• This one's for Ben...Ben has a fart  toot app on his iPhone and plays it for Barrett.  SUCH a BOY thing!!  There is only one of the noises on there that Barrett doesn't think is funny.  He makes his frowny face when he hears it. 
• Barrett USED to take great 2 hour naps but lately, will only take short little naps unless he is being held.  I'm trying to break this habit.
• In the past couple weeks, he has gotten so much more content and happier. 
• He loves to look at Bella (our dog).
• He is so easy to put to bed at night. (knock on wood!!  ha!)  We swaddle him, feed him, and put him down around 8:30-9:30.  He only wakes up once during the night.  Sometimes he will sleep through the night but it isn't consistent yet.  He will sleep til 7 or 7:30 though which is awesome!! 

Pediatric cardiologist...God is SO GOOD!!!

After having Barrett's 2 month check up, we had to schedule an appointment at the pediatric cardiologist for a heart murmur that was heard.  We went to that appointment today and got great news!!!  He does have a tiny murmur but nothing abnormal and nothing at all to worry about!!!  God is so good and we are so thankful and blessed to have a perfect little boy!!!  He is so sweet!!!!

Lunch with Daddy

Today we went to have lunch with Daddy!!  We went to a yummy little sandwich shop and then back to Bens work.  Ben showed Barrett off to his office and I'm pretty sure he was excited to do so.  :)  Everyone said he looks like me which secretly (well, I guess it isn't a secret anymore) makes me really happy.  I just think it is so neat that this cute little boy that we made LOOKS like ME!!  I fed Barrett before we headed back home.  Oh...and he so graciously did a dirty diaper while he was eating so we changed him in Ben's office...sorry Ben!!  haha!

Recently, this is the only way I can get Barrett to take a good nap (if I hold him).  He was taking really good 2 hour naps by himself but he won't right now.

1st Mothers Day

This was my first Mothers Day!!  I am so thankful for my mother who is always there for me no matter what and loves my baby so incredibly much!!  She is the best!!  I am also thankful for Bens mom who loves Barrett so much and is so good to us!!  Most of all, I'm thankful that God chose ME to be Barrett's mommy!  What a blessing he is!  He brings so much happiness to us and his little smile will brighten any day!!

The weekend started early for Barrett and I.  Thursday evening I was talking to my mom and jokingly said she should come to my house and get us so we could get an early start to the weekend and not have to wait on Ben to get off work Friday.  Well...Dad said she could and she came to get us!!!!  YAY!!  It was a 4 hour round trip for her but she did it!!!Ben ended up getting off work early on Friday and heading to my parents.  Ben got up with Barrett Friday night (he always does) and gave me a break!!  What a great Dad and husband!  We spent Saturday with Bens parents ad then we all (my family and Bens parents) met at El Charros for dinner.  YUM YUM!  Best mexican food ever!!  Saturday night my mom got up with Barrett and gave Ben and I both a break!  Hello SLEEP!!!  We were pretty lazy Sunday and just hung out at my parents.  My mom, dad, and Whitney ended up keeping Barrett until Tuesday afternoon to give me a much needed break and time to get my house in order.  Thank yall SO MUCH!!!  It's amazing what some free time and a little sleep will do for ya!

And this is what Ben and Barrett gave me for Mothers Day!  A cute coffee mug, picture, money, and a coupon for Ben to watch Barrett while I go do something.  Shopping trip?!?! 

My parents gave me a yummy smelling candle and Whitney gave me some cute pajama pants!  Yes...my sister got me something for Mothers Day!!  She's always too thoughtful!!

 

Sleeping through the night!!!

Barrett slept through the night for the FIRST time last night!!!! 

YAY!!! 

Maybe he will continue!  We fed him at 9, put him to bed, and he slept until 6:30 this morning!!!  I watched the monitor for almost 2 hours making sure he was ok.  :)

Our little family weekend :)

We had such a nice, relaxing, rainy weekend with our little family.  This is the first weekend (I think) since Barrett was born that we haven't been out of town or had company.  I LOVE having company so that doesn't bother me.  :)  It was nice to just be at home with nothing to do though.  We did a little shopping and of course, went out to eat.  Sunday evening we headed out to dinner and Barrett stayed awake the whole time.  It makes me so nervous but he was pretty good.  We always try and pick LOUD places to go out to eat with him now.  He seems to like noise and also, if he cries it won't be as big of a deal.  He just wanted to be held the entire time.  We took turns holding him and eating.  haha!!  I guess this is the life of a parent!  :)  Barrett just looked around and took everything in the whole time.
