Lunch with Daddy!

Today we met Ben for lunch at "Fuzzy's Tacos".  What a weird name for a restaurant but it is soooo good!!! 
Barrett tried to jump in his highchair as if it were his exersaucer the whole time!  HAHA!!  He also STARED at our food while we ate.  This boy wants to eat REAL FOOD!!!

Papa T got Barrett a swing and installed it today.  He sent us this picture.  We cant wait to try it out this weekend!!!!

6 months old!!!

Barrett is 6 months old today!!!  Half-way to one year!!!  This is crazy!!  Time is flying by so fast and we are having so much fun with our sweet baby boy!  Today, Barrett had to go for his6 month well check and he also received 3 shots...poor baby, mommy, and Nonnie!  Nonnie went with us.  Her and Papa T also brought Barrett a couple 6 month birthday presents!  (pics below...)  Barrett's appointment went well.  He did so good.  Him AND Nonnie cried for a bit with the shots but recovered quickly.  :)  His doctor did say that we probably need to go visit the Cranial Technologies place to see if he needs a Doc Band.  I am really praying he doesn't but if he does, it is a small hurdle compared to what some little ones face.  (I will have to keep on reminding myself of this.)  The back left side of his head is a tad flatter because he has favored sleeping on that side.  It is not severe at all...some can be though.

Thank you God for our sweet, perfect, healthy, bundle of joy!!!  We are blessed beyond what we could have ever imagined!! 

6 months...

• Weighs 20 lbs.  (90%)
• 27.5 inches long (90%)
• Eating about 5 or 6 6 oz. bottles a day.
• Eating baby food for breakfast and dinner...we are about to start having it for lunch as well. 
• He loves most every food he has tried but sometimes will turn his nose up at peas.  :)
• Barrett LOVES his exersaucer and has learned to bounce/jump in it the last week or so!  It is the cutest thing!!
• Sleeps through the night...about 12 hours!!  YAY!!  (usually 8-8)
• Always so happy except when he is hungry or sleepy.  Such a joy to be with!
• He can say "Dada".  :)
• Barrett gets so excited when he sees his food!!  He starts banging on his high chair when he sees the food coming his way!  He also gets excited to see our food and stares at it.  :)
• Loves the water...swimming and baths!
• Makes razzing sounds with his lips.
• Loves for us to sing to him...especially his Papa T!
• He can sit up very well and plays with his toys.  His favorite toys right now are ones that rattle.

Furniture redo addiction!!

Lately, I have been totally addicted to finding good, CHEAP furniture that just needs a little TLC.  It’s a REAL addiction I think…haha!!  Here are a couple things I have redone…

Saying "Dada"

The last few days Barrett has began to say “Dada”.  It is super cute and I’m trying to not take it personally…even though I know it has no meaning at this age.  J  I know Ben is loving it!!

It is so sweet and fun to watch Barrett do new things!!

It is scorching hot outside!!  YUCK!  Last night, it was finally a TINY bit cooler so we went outside and watched Daddy wash his truck.

I FINALLY got brave enough to attempt to fry some backstrap from a deer Ben killed…poor Bambi!!  L  It was actually very good!!  (Except for the fact that I found a DEER HAIR in one of the pieces as I was cooking it…YUCK!  I just overlooked that part!)

Lake Texoma 2011

My Dad (Papa T) wanted to begin a tradition of taking us all on vacation each year.  I really think he wanted to just take Barrett….BUT, we are a package deal!  HA!  Just kidding!  We decided to do something last minute so we stayed close and went to Tanglewood Resorts at Lake Texoma.  It was a very laid back, relaxing vacation!!!  Those are the BEST!  We hung out, ate yummy food, swam in the pools, and took a very short boat ride.  We decided to rent a barge one evening from 4-8 thinking it would be a nice evening to just drive around.  Well, Mr. Barrett had other plans.  He did NOT like his life jacket AT ALL and was burning up and SCREAMING!  POOR baby!!  All us girls (me, Nonnie, and Aunt Whitney) ended up crying because we felt so bad for him.  Big ole cry babies!!  J  Needless to say, we were in the car headed back to the condo at 4:30.

Austin Weekend

This weekend we headed to Austin to attend a shower for Baby Hal and we also made a little getaway out of it!!  We went a night early and enjoyed some alone time!

We went to the state capitol to look around for just a bit because Ben had never seen it.  Later, we looked around town and went to dinner at Hula Hut..Yummy!!

This is how my weekend began...I was tired!

The next day we met Luke and Meredith at Barton Springs Pool to swim for a bit and then all went to lunch.  I didn't get any pics of Baby Hals baby shower but it was very nice.  We had yummy food and drinks and just all visited.  He got some very nice things!!  :) 

We ended our evening hanging out at some guys (sorry-don't remember his name!) recording studio.
