1st Pony Ride!!

Last weekend, we went to the Syrup Festival in Henderson with Papa, Nonna, and Aunt Whitney while daddy was hunting with his college buddies. The festival was really nothing to write home about but.....Barrett DID get to ride a pony for the FIRST TIME!!! Papa walked beside him to make sure he didn't fall off. :) Barrett loved riding the horse and loves watching the video of it over and over!!

Santa Land 2012

Last night was Barrett's 2nd time to see Santa Land.
We ate at Cracker Barrel with Papa, Nonna and Aunt Whitney and then all piled in Papa's truck to drive through and see the lights. Barrett thought it was pretty neat and sat in amazement through the whole thing. Such fun memories!!!! Thanks for taking us Papa and Nonna!!

Bye bye nap #2

I'm very sad to say Barrett has officially dropped one nap. I was lucky to get 2 good naps out of him for so long!! He hasnt taken 2 naps in a few weeks. Not gonna lie...I enjoy nap time to have a little time to myself. :) I think most moms will agree.

Halloween

It's Elmo!!!!

We went to our neighborhood Halloween party and had such a great time! There were a ton of kids and Barrett loved playing!
He wasn't really into the trick or treating...he decided he'd rather ride on one of the neighbors golf carts alongside everyone walking.

1st Haircut

Barrett had his first haircut tonight and he did sooooo good!! I really figured he'd cry a bit but he sat so still for the lady and just looked in the mirror.
And he even got to choose a sucker afterwards!! (His first sucker ever, also!)

Pray

Just wanted to post this so I'll always remember.

Barrett (19 months) has been making sure and reminding us to pray ("tay") before every meal the past week or so.

He is such a sweet boy!!!

Escape!!!

Barrett can now climb out of his pack n play!! Oh my!! Traveling will be a tad of a challenge for a whiIe i think.
He sure is growing up fast!!

1st Busted Lip

Barrett tripped (over his own feet I'm pretty sure) last night and fell onto the tile floor which resulted in his first busted (top) lip. I figured it would be pretty swollen when he woke up this morning but it wasn't bad at all. It bled quite a bit but after a minute or two he was good to go.

Momma

Barrett is saying "momma" ALL the time right now!!!! I LOVE it!!! He has been able to say it for a long time but just never chooses to do so. He always says "Dada". YAY for "momma"!!!

2 WEEKS!!!

Only 2 more weeks until we move into our house and we CAN NOT WAIT!!!  We are so excited to have our own place again.  It's been a blessing to have my parents to stay with the past 3 1/2 months while in transition but we have definitely missed having our own home.  YAY!!!

Being sick is no fun!

Barrett had a virus the past 4-5 days.  He ran fever the entire time and it got as high as 105.4!!!  We took him to the ER that night.  He had high fever and started vomited.  Talk about a SCARED momma!  He felt awful!  We didn't get home from the ER until about 4 in the morning.  He couldn't keep his meds down so they gave him some nausea medicine that helped. 
That was the most sick he has been and it was so sad. 
So glad my baby is all better now!!! 

16 months

We didn't get to the doctor's office at 15 months since we moved and had to change pediatricians but we went at 16 months.

Likes:

• dancing (As soon as Barrett hears music he will begin to dance.  It is too cute!!)
• horses (He likes to stop by Papa T's and feed the horse behind his shop.  He even knows when we are in the car and pass the shop.)
• Elmo (Nonnie bought him a portable DVD player and an Elmo DVD and he has loved Elmo ever since.  He has since gotten some Elmo PJ's that he loves.)
• "nacks" - snacks (Barrett thinks everything he eats is a "nack"!  And he loves to constantly ask for a "nack".)
• "take" - cake (haha!!  He IS my child!!)
• Froot Loops cereal (and he can actually say "Froot Loop".)
• playing outside
• bugs (He likes to pretend that he is stepping on bugs.  haha!  And he will also pretend to pull a bug out of his ear and hand it to you...pretty hilarious!!)
• He likes to show people his shirt and shoes.  :)
• brushing his teeth
• riding on the "mower" with Pops and working in his garden

Sleeping:  Barrett hasn't been the greatest sleeper the past month or two.  I think it's a combination of being in transition between houses, teething and just not wanting to miss out on any fun.  He does not go down easy like he used to and he wakes during the night but we are hoping that changes once we get moved into our house and he has his own room again.  Lately, Ben can put him to bed better than I can!!  He cries if I lay him down but not for Ben most times.  He takes 1-2 naps a day depending on what time he wakes up.  Some mornings he will sleep a little later and just take one nap.  I think he is trying to drop one of his naps.  He HAS to have his "paci" and "lovey" to sleep!!

Barrett is usually a happy little boy but lately, he has starting throwing a few fits and fussing when he doesnt get his way.  Terrible twos early???  YIKES!
He can make quite a few animal sounds and has a lot of words already.  He will try his best to mimic anything you say!  The doctor asked if he had 3-4 words and I looked at him like he had a third eye!!  This boy has probably 30-40 words!!  He is good at using his fork when eating and he are working on using a spoon.  

I have recently started working just 2 days a week so Barrett has been staying with each of our moms.  I think its good for both of us and I think Barrett likes spending some one on one time with his grandparents!  He will begin MDO this fall one day a week, too.

Words, words, words!!!

It seems Barrett is saying new words ALL the time right now.  I just wanted to write them down so I will always remember!!  :)

Barrett can make all sorts of sounds now too!!
"boo" instead of "moo" for a cow
"neigh" - horse
"woof woof"
tractor sound

He will "jump like a frog".
He will show his muscles and grunts when he does.  Too cute!!
He raises both arms in the arm for a "touchdown".
Barrett will also hold one finger up when asked how old he is.  :)

End of a chapter, beginning of a new one...

Ben's last day at the Sherman office. I know Ben is sad to leave all his great coworkers but excited to move back. Just another chapter! :)

Fork!

We gave Barrett a fork during dinner about a week ago and he knew exactly how to use it! He's so smart!!
It amazes me how fast he can learn a new task.

Easter 2012

Barrett's 2nd Easter

Ben actually watched Barrett and took him to the farm while I went to a wedding out of town with my mom and sister.  We all came back to my parents house on Saturday evening.
Easter Sunday, Barrett woke up to a basket full of goodies!
We went to my parents church - FBC Lindale.  Barrett lasted up until the preaching (I took him into "big" church with us) and then my mom and I took him home.  We came home to prepare lunch.  We had smoked ham and all the trimmings.  YUM! 
After lunch, Barrett had his FIRST Easter egg hunt!!
