8 months old!!

  • Wave bye-bye
  • Army crawl
  • Eats baby food for breakfast and dinner
  • Likes to chew on frozen fruit in his mesh teether.  He has had apples, bananas, grapes, peaches, and pears.  He liked everything but the apple...I think I got a tart one.
  • Loves to jump in his exersaucer and Johnny Jump Up!
  • Rides in his car seat really well!
  • Loves to be outside!
  • Changing his diaper is a sport in itself!!!  He wants to immediately roll over on his tummy which makes it a real challenge and usually resorts in him crying or me putting his diaper on backwards!
  • He still takes 2 naps...every once in a while he will catnap for a 3rd nap if his afternoon nap wasn't very long.
  • He has been doing this for a while but...He LOVES when his Papa T sings "deedle daddle doe" to him.  He starts shaking his head to the tune.
  • He has 2 bottom front teeth!
  • Barrett also will "growl" at you...it's hilarious!!

Mmmm...Avocados!!

Last night we went to dinner at Blue Goose Cantina.  It was super yummy.  We ate on the patio since the weather has been so nice!  I have been wanting to give Barrett some avocado to try but I haven't thought to pick them up at the store OR I see them and have no clue how to tell if they are ripe.  Ha!  My fish tacos had avocado on them so, I cut a little up and let him try it.  He really liked it and I think he really likes eating real food.  He's also been eating puffs the last few days.  He is doing really good with the few fingers foods we have tried.  Can't wait for him to try new foods!!!

Also, while we were there, Barrett kept waving at every person that would work towards him.  And of course, Ben and I thought it was the CUTEST thing EVER!!  :)

What's this???

Ok...so he looks like he is choking or in total discomfort but he kept leaning back and being silly after every bite.

Pumpkin Patch ~ October 2011

The Big Orange Pumpkin Patch
Celina, Tx

We had so much fun going to the pumpkin patch today.  Our main goal was to get some cute pictures of Barrett...and I think we accomplished that!!
There were all kinds of farm animals, hundreds of pumpkins, and some tractors that Barrett loved.
The weather was great!  We left here, went to dinner, and ran a few errands.
Such a fun little family day!

"Wave Bye-Bye"

Barrett waved "bye-bye" for the first time today!!! It is the CUTEST thing!!!

Nonnie actually taught Barrett to wave.

He will mimic us when we wave at him but also will just wave when we tell him to. So smart!! :) He puts his hand high up and just watches his little fingers move up and down.

It seems like we are crossing many milestones lately....he's growing too fast!! This is such a fun age!!

Sigma Chi Reunion - Lubbock, TX

Ben and I headed to Lubbock Friday morning with Robby and Jana to a Sigma Chi Reunion for the guys. Jeannie and Pops came up to our house to watch Barrett while we were gone.

Rocking in Ben's old rocking chair.
When we got to Lubbock Friday night, we met at a rooftop bar to visit and had a blast! It overlooked the stadium which was really neat! The weather felt amazing!!!

A Trip to the Farm

Barrett and I went to the farm this week to meet Ben, Jeanie, and Pops. They had been there working all week and we just came to hang out for a few nights. The weather was pretty pleasant. Polly also came to hang out with us. We spent our days riding on the mule, watching Pops and Ben work, sitting on the farm house porch and screen porch at the cabin, pulling Barrett in his wagon, and Ben and I sat in the new deer stand one evening.

Riding in his wagon down the road.  Polly was watching us from the farm house porch.  :)

Polly and Jeanie letting Barrett chew on some frozen pears.
He had never had any before but LOVED them!!

Polly made Barrett a beautiful quilt!!  Polly called it a "pee quilt".  haha!  She says it is one we can throw anywhere and he can pee or whatever on it.  NO WAY!!!  She makes beautiful quilts and it is definitely a quilt that will be so special to Barrett!!  So thankful for Polly!

Hanging out on the twins play tractor.
He looks like he's tired from working so hard in this picture!  haha!

Could he get ANY cuter?!?!  I don't think so!!!!

Ben is such an amazing Daddy!!!!

Ben and I watched the sunset from the new snazzy deer stand!  Isn't it gorgeous??
It was such a nice evening!!
Barrett stayed with Jeanie and Pops.

Helping Daddy on the tractor.
Barrett LOVES seeing his Daddy on the tractor and hearing the loud sound!

I sure do love my little family that I have been so richly blessed with!!!

Playing on the steps to one of the deer stands.  Ben actually was standing on a step after this picture and the step broke.  Glad he wasn't high up or holding Barrett!!  Yikes!

Riding in the mule.  I made Barrett his own "shade" so he wouldn't get sunburned.  Ben took him riding around for about a hour one evening and Barrett fell fast asleep in his carseat.

Pops starting to paint one of the deer stands.
See Barrett up in the deer stand looking out the window???

We had a great weekend!  I know Ben and his Daddy will make lots of wonderful memories hunting in these deer stands in the future!!
