Date Night!!!!
Ben and I went on our first night out since having Barrett!! My parents and sister came up for the weekend and offered to keep him while we got out. It was sooooo nice to get dressed and get out of the house and just enjoy each others company for a while. We ate at PF Changs and it was super yummy!! We also went to Market Street (got some yummy cinnamon rolls to bring home), Kohls (I had a coupon I wanted to use), Babies R Us (needed some bottles and baby socks!), and Target. We left about 6 and were back home by about 9!! haha!
I am so grateful that we have so much help!! My mom and Whitney have been up every week and each time, my mom usually takes Barrett for the night! WOW!! It is so awesome and wonderful to have a full nights sleep when she comes!!!! LOVE her!!!

The past couple weeks...
We have had lots of company and just enjoyed being home with our new baby boy. The time has flown by and now it is time for Ben to head back to work this week. Parenthood has been great, fun, exciting, tiring, and overwhelming. I'm ready to settle down and try and get into a routine.
Barrett eats every 3 hours around the clock ( give or take a few minutes sometimes). He usually lets us know when he is hungry...I haven't had to wake him much to feed. He loves to be held! He can be crying in his swing and the moment you pick him up (most of the time...ha!), he stops. He seems very alert when he is awake! I love just watching the expressions on his face. :)

We have had a full house ever since Barrett was born it seems like. We have very much enjoyed all the help!! It has definitely made things easier. My parents and Whitney stayed for a few days. Dad and Whitney had to go back home for work/school but came back during the week and surprised me and brought my Aunt Sherrie who lives in South Carolina. It was a nice surprise and I enjoyed seeing her and it was neat to introduce her to Barrett. My mom cooked for us and even took the night shift some to let us sleep!! Thank you Mom!!! Ben and I had one night alone when my family left before his parents came up for a couple nights. They also cooked for us and helped with Barrett during the day. When they left, my mom and Whitney came back up and helped out some more. Luke and Meredith came this weekend to meet Barrett for the first time and headed back home today. We tried taking Barrett into town just to walk aroud outside and he wanted nothing to do with it. So...we packed back up and headed back home.
Ben is off tomorrow and then he is headed back to work. Im kind of scared about all my help leaving but I know (well, I HOPE) Barrett and I will get into some sort of routine. Well....maybe all my help isn't gone yet...my mom and Whitney are going to try and come back up one night this week!! YAY!!

2 week well visit
Barrett had his 2 week well visit today at the pediatrician office. He was right back at his birth weight (8 lbs. 3.5 oz.) which is where he should be. YAY!! At his 5 day visit he weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. He has grown almost 2 inches in the past couple weeks. He is 21 1/4 inches long.
He had to get the first hepatitis shot today. POOR BABY!! I couldnt even look when they did it. As soon as they stuck his tiny leg, he started screaming and I started crying! I felt so awful for him! :( Luckily, Ben was there with us. After that, as if one shot wasn't enough, Barrett had to have his heel pricked for the PKU test. He didn't like that so much either. I know all of the shots are for the best but it just hurts seeing your baby hurt. We don't go back to the pediatrician until Barrett is 2 months old.

Introducing....
Thomas Barrett Sanders
Our sweet little boy arrived at 9:59 am on February 25, 2011.
He weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 19.5 inches long.
Our new little family of 3!
What a sweet blessing!
